I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My family moved to Tucson in 1968 where I attended school, up through the UA, earning my Master's Degree with Distinction in Higher Education Management. Following a 10 year career in Industrial Relations at ASARCO, I went to work for the UA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in 1988. I am still employed there as an Associate Director of Athletics, in charge of managing capital projects.
My wife Ann and I have been married since 1979. We have a daughter, Kimberly, and just this year became first time grandparents. I began his tenure on the Tucson City Council in 2009.
